In order to use repainted textures, or most mods for that matter, you need to either remove the cachedb.bin file or replace it with a blank on in the res_mods folder. In some cases replacing it with a blank file will not work, in which case it must be either removed or renamed.

This file is used by the game to pre-load data such as the nationality markings other decals. Removing this file has no ill effects on the game, but if you feel hesitant to remove it download the above file and see if it works for you.

To remove the file, if you choose or the game insists, do the following.

1> Locate your World of Warplanes directory, normally found in at C:\\Games

2> Go into the following folders, res\scripts\db

3> Scroll down and find the file named cachedb.bin and either rename it by adding .old to the end or simply delete it.

4> Re-start the game.

Follow the button link below to download the blank Cachedb.bin file if you need it.

I have made every attempt to make the installation of my skins as simple as possible. It is simply a drag and drop process by following these simple steps.

1> Open up you main World of Warplanes folder, normally found in C:\Games\World_of_Warplanes_NA

2> Open the res_mods folder and then the sub-folder for the current version of the game. This is 2.0.2.0 as of the creation of these instructions.

3> Extract the compressed folder that you downloaded from my site. I recommend extracting to the desktop as it makes locating it easier in most cases.

4> Inside the extracted folder you should see a folder named Vehicles, drag this folder into the res_mods sub-folder you opened earlier.

In most cases you will also need an edited xml file for the plane you are using the skin for. This file can be downloaded from the top of the first page for each aircraft on this site. Follow the same steps as above to install these files substituting the vehicles folder with the folder named Scripts. Keep in mind you only need to do this once per plane.
